Most people perceive heart attacks as something that occurs suddenly and unexpectedly. The truth is, the body typically gives some symptoms well in advance. Usually, we mistake those symptoms for something innocuous. Below are some signs of heart attack you may consider someday.
Chest pain or pressure
Let’s talk about chest pain or pressure. If you feel any heavy sensation on your chest, or squeezing type of pain that doesn’t go away rapidly, don’t ignore it. Most people ignore it thinking it’s gas or acidity, but it could be the heart’s way of asking for help.
Unusual tiredness
Then there is unusual tiredness. If you feel more tired than you would expect after normal activity, or are not able to make it through the day for no apparent reason, that is another sign you should pay attention to.
Shortness of breath
Shortness of breath is another big one. If you feel shortness of breath after walking even a few steps, climbing stairs, or talking, that is not normal. Unfortunately, that can be indicative of the heart not pumping properly.
Travelling Pain
Pain can also migrate from its source. Sometimes, it can present in the left arm, shoulder, back, neck, and even the jaw. In women, it is often more visible in these areas than in classic chest pain.
Sudden Dizziness
Do not dismiss symptoms such as nausea, cold sweating, and sudden dizziness. These may not rightfully scare you, but together with the other symptoms, they are worth noting.
The simple message is – If something does not feel right to you, do not wait for it to go away. It is always better to see a doctor to be safe, than to experience a feeling you may regret later. The heart often warns us; we just need to pay attention to those warnings.
